Lightroom Classic slow with many aspects (14.4.1, Mac M1 Max 64GB and 1TB free space)
This has to be a technical issue.
I downgrad to ver 13, despite other bugs like library won't show edits, import, export, generate preview, go back and forth in library, they are all much more responsive.
A few things that I noticed in 14.4.1:
When I drag and drop my SD card files in a folder and then synchronize that folder, the performance is on par (normally take 1-2 minute for 20GB). However, if i use the import dialog for the same amount of files, it will take 20-30 minutes. Even when I use the import button to import files on my drive to their current location takes a very long time.
There is a very big lag when i click on thumbnail to have the loupe view. when i hold the right or left arrow, it will zoom through the entire folder, but when i just press the arrow key once to compare two files back and forth, the wait can be seconds. I've tried build 1:1 preview, optimized my catalog, restart, increase cache and swap disk, let Lr auto decide to use graphic cores, nothing helps.
Does anyone else have similar issue with mac? Can I also rant about why is it still X86/64 software on the new mac now that 2 year have passed since the M1?
