Lightroom Classic Soft Proofing in 13.0

I am trying to use Soft Proofing in Lightroom Classic 13.0.

  1. In the Develop module I select the "Soft Proofing" Checkbox.  I go into Soft Proofing mode.
  2. I click on"Create Proof Copy"
  3. I make a change to the image (Exposure for example).  With every change, a new Proof Copy is created.

Is this the way its supposed to work?  I assumed that once I made a proof copy, I could make multipe edits before another proof copy is made.  in addition, it seems that on the sliders, whatever change made becomes the new baseline for that slider.  For example, if I adjust Exposure from 0.00 to 0.50, the app immediately makes a proof copy, then the new baseline for that slider is 0.50.  Is this correct?

Also, there's no history of making the proof coies in the history panel, nor do they show up in the tile bar below.

Perhaps a good tutorial would help? Any ideas?

Thanks

Well, I tried it but I cannot reproduce it. I get one proof copy, no matter how many edits I make while soft proofing.
