Lightroom Classic - strange empty window when starting up

I got a new laptop and installed Lightroom Classic on it. LR was uninstalled on the old computer.

The problem is that when I start the program, the following window appears and then remains blank. I can't select anything, and when I close it using the cross, Lightroom closes as well.

Somehow, I managed to import a few images, but they are not displayed in the Develop module. So I can't use Lightroom at all at the moment.

When I was temporarily able to access the preferences, I noticed that my Adobe ID is not displayed in LR. I suspect that the link to my account has not yet been established, but I can't get anywhere with this blank white window.

I have already tried uninstalling LR and reinstalling it. Unfortunately, this did not change anything. So I need help from Adobe to fix this problem.

Best regards,
Eike

I was just able to solve the problem myself. Uninstalling on the old computer alone is not enough. You have to deactivate the computer in your Adobe account, and that can obviously only be done in a web browser. I stumbled upon this when I was just clicking through all the options... After deactivating, NO empty window appeared when I restarted LR, and my Adobe ID was automatically transferred to LR.

Hey, @Eike_GMH. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out. I've checked the account you've used for the Community and found a team subscription.

Is this a personal machine, or does a centralized IT team manage it? Do you have a VPN, Browser Plugin, or Antivirus that can control the temporary files or how your computer connects to the Internet? If yes, try to disable any such programs and plugins.

Try these steps  & report back with what you find:

1- In the Creative Cloud app, press CTRL + ALT + T (Win) to launch Creative Cloud Troubleshooter & select 'Close Creative Cloud and related processes' > click on Go.

2- Windows - Press Windows + R to open the Run Window. Type in %temp% and delete files or folders with 'NGL' in their names.

3- Restart the computer. Sign in to Creative Cloud again & check if the issue exists.

Let us know if the error persists. Thanks!
