Question

Lightroom Classic sync and flagged photos

I'm a long time Lightroom user and I'm running Lightroom Classic 14.5.1 on MacOs 15.6.1.

Over the last few Lightroom Classic updates, but more so in this version, I'm noticing an issue.

After importing photos and creating a collection which is synced, one can 'flag' photos. Sometimes (not always), the 'flags' don't always sync to the photo online - even though LR has completed the sync (ie; cloud icon on far right has green tick).

Updates to the photo (exposure, contrast etc) are applied to the version online  just fine - just not the flagged status, leaving me to have to manually find the photo and flag it in the online version.

As I said - it doesn't happen ALL the time, but happens several times a day..
I've tried reinstalling, restarting, etc - so reaching out!

Hi @Dave Lynes,

Sorry for the late response and thank you for raising this and for sharing the details of your setup.

Could you please help us narrow this down by confirming a few things:
 • Do the affected images always belong to a specific synced collection, or does it happen across multiple ones?
 • Are you also syncing star ratings or color labels, and if so, do they sync correctly?
 • If you unflag and reflag one of the affected images, does it then sync properly?

As a next step, please also share a copy of your Lightroom Classic Sync Diagnostics:
 • Go to Preferences > Lightroom Sync
 • Hold Alt/Option and click the Sync Activity button to generate a diagnostics log
 • Save the file and upload it here or via DM

Also, you can try a couple of steps that often help clear sync inconsistencies:
 • Log out of the Creative Cloud Desktop app, then log back in. Please also keep the Creative Cloud app open in the background (menu bar) while you’re working.
 • Rebuild the sync data in Lightroom Classic:
1. Go to Preferences > Lightroom Sync
2. Hold the Alt/Option key and you’ll see the Rebuild Sync Data button appear
3. Click this to regenerate it.

After doing this, try flagging a few images in a synced collection and see if the status updates consistently.

If the issue continues, please generate a Sync Diagnostics log and share it here or via DM. This will allow us to check for errors in the sync pipeline and pass them along to the product team if necessary.

Best,
