Lightroom classic syncing issues with desktop and ipad 2023

I edit my photos on my computer with Lightroom classic and also on my iPad pro. When I have been editing on my iPad I have synced my computer up so it transfers the edited versions onto my computer so I can export them into my folders. Recently every time I have synced Lightroom on the computer. When I have gone back onto my iPad. It has reset the images that I have edited. Also on my computer every time I re-sync it tries to re-sync every picture which takes hours. At the moment, I have not re-sync anything because I don't want to lose the edited pictures on my iPad. I was wondering if anyone has experience this and is able to help me stop losing my work which is quite frustrating. Any information on stopping my Lightroom on my computer re-syncing everything every time I open it. and stopping losing my work on my iPad. This would be much appreciated.
