Lightroom Classic Tethered Capture

I'm trying to do tethered capture with my Canon R8 in Lightroom Classic. However, LR recognizes the camera and displays a preview on the screen. Only when I click on the photo does it not save to the folder I selected, and the photo doesn't appear on my computer screen either.

I'm using the recommended cable.

Can anyone help?

Thanks for sharing the details. To help us troubleshoot, could you let us know a bit more about your setup?

  • Which exact version of Lightroom Classic are you using? (Help > System Info)

  • Which operating system and version (Windows/macOS)?

  • Is the issue happening with every shot or only occasionally?

  • When you click the photo, does it save only to the camera’s card, or not at all?

  • Does the selected destination folder have full read/write permissions?

 

This info will help narrow down whether it’s a software, permissions, or connection issue.
