Lightroom Classic Tone Curve

When using tone curves in LRC (v 12.1) I am finding that the point selected "snaps back" to a different position than the one selected. Not to the original point, just a different one from the selected one. I've re-tired, being super careful not to be moving the mouse, but to no avail. Is it me? Am I doing something wrong?
