Lightroom Classic trial

I downloaded a trial version and decided that it wasn't a good idea as it overtakes all my historic and previous catelogues. I rang Adobe and they informed me that you can run two versions on the same machine but when they took over my computer they could not get it working to accept both versions . Classic still dominates the catelogues and opens them regardless. Adobe eventually reinstalled my old version of Lightroom 6 (without reinstating the serial No) and supposedly deleted theTrial of Classic.. It didn't delete... and has slowed down the original Lightroom 6 ..My IT guy can't fix it, or figure out why its running slow.. So be warned .  Lightroom Classic Trial is not a good idea unless your happy to not only keep paying the subscripion, but also have your estate pay it if the family or future media want to access your working catelogues ..Mine go back past the Russian occupation of Afghanastan and are, and will continue to be valuable working catelogues.

    Do you have done a clean reinstallation of you old Lightroom?

    If not follow the steps below:

    Deinstall all Adobe programs.

    Run the Adobe Cleaner Tool

    Install the necessary Adobe software that yiou need.

    It does not take over your catalogs.

    If you open a catalog from LR Classic CC, it will upgrade the catalog and open in Lightroom Classic CC.

    If you open a catalog from LR 6 that was created in Lightroom 6, it will open in Lightroom 6. Your LR 6 catalogs are still there, unchanged.

    If it does not take over my carelogues then why am I having to retrieve every single carelogue that I work on from my backups as the catelogue I previously worked on is ‘too New for this version of Lightroom’..Remembering that this trial was installed by Adobe over the phone and with them taking over my computer ..The primary concern is also that any work undertaken on the Lightroom CC version is locked into the subscription and is not available when you stop paying ...or die!   Can you confirm that all the previous settings of the develop module are lost when you stop paying the subscription

    Don't know where you picked up this misconception but it's not true.

    When you stop paying, you still have access to the catalog and all previous edits. Lightroom still works (minus Lightroom mobile, Develop and Map).

    What happens to Lightroom after my membership ends?


    That is a deceptive reply and according to Adobe telephone service and my own experience entirely untrue..you have access to your edited photographs but not the edited settings unless you resubscribe..could you please confirm this
