Question

Lightroom Classic unable to read images from Nikon D750 on Mac OS Catalina

Since I upgraded my iMac to OS Catalina I can't import photos from my Nikon D750.  I have the latest version of Lightroom Classic but it doesn't detect the Nikon photos.  Is there a solution in the works or a temporary workaround to use in the meantime?

3. Just in case, verify exact Lightroom version. The words latest version will be ignored

This is an old lesson learned, latest version means absolutely nothing.

Hi,

CF card in this case is in the Camera (Nikon D800). This is how we have
always imported photos (successfully for many years).

Lightroom detects the camera but says no photos found. We can see the
device only.

Lightroom version is Build [201911291132-64cf80b4]

you using MacOS 10.15.2 Catalina?

Yes, I am using MacOS 10.15.2 but I am using the "Import" function on the Library page to load the images.  The Import screen shows my camera as a source but reports that it can't find any photos.

Same problem here. Nikon D800 that has always been able to load photos direct from the camera no longer detects photos. We are on Catalina 10.15.2 and Lightroom Classic 9.1.

Photos are definitely there and can be uploaded from the camera in Mac photos.

Hi there,

We are sorry about the experience with Lightroom Classic.

Would you mind sharing more information on where the files are saved that you are trying to import to Lightroom Classic?

You can try adding Lightroom Classic to the Accessibility list for macOS by going to the System Preferences, then Security and Privacy and then the Privacy tab. Also, grant permissions to Lightroom Classic under Files and Folders, then restart the computer to check if that helps. You can also create a test folder on the desktop and check if Lightroom Classic is able to read the images in that folder or import from that folder on the desktop.

Regards,

Nikunj

I will try your suggestions and let you know if it works.  I am trying to import the images directly from my Nikon D750 memory - which as always worked well.  FYI, I tried to import from my other camera, a Lumix, and the images loaded without any problem.
