Lightroom Classic Version 7.5 Placing Photos in Map Module Not Working

The problem is that when dragging a photo from the filmstrip to the map nothing happens (no photo on the map, no gps coordinates in the metadata).

The same applies when selecting and trying to place multiple photos.

I have in the mean time downgraded to version 7.4 and the map module appears to work correctly again.
