Lightroom Classic will not launch

Literally nothing happens. 
I have restarted, uninstalled, restarted, reinstalled, restarted, signed out of Adobe Creative, restarted, signed back in and restarted and STILL it will not launch.

It appears in Task Manager but WILL NOT launch.

Please please help if you can provide any further suggestions, I have a wedding to edit and I can't do anything whatsoever. I'm appalled that this can be an industry standard application and yet be so unreliable.

Another update:

updated everything updateable on windows and updated GFX drivers
Still no joy.

UPDATE:
So after resetting preferences and restarting, it started asking me to update the catalog for the new update (which I did a few days ago - confused) anyway i thought meh let it do it again. The new catalog it created (v12) didn't have any of my 50k+ photos that are in my old catalog. It's a completely blank catalog. When i tried to load my existing V12 catalog from less than a week ago, it again failed to launch...

Is there some way of fixing my existing catalog because it seems to be what's causing the problem

Instead of starting LrC, and letting it open (I assume) the most recent, or previous catalog (or what LrC thinks that catalog is) use your OS file manager  and locate the catalog you want, double click on the catalog, and see what occurs.

When i do this, LRC again refuses to open

Please try if it helps to reset the preferences: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/setting-preferences-lightroom.html

Uninstall and reinstall does not reset the preferences.

Did it work before on this PC?

Also, let us know the specs of the PC and if you are trying with the latest version 12.4?

That didn't work either I'm afraid.

Also, (not that you would know necessarily but... to the 'mod' i guess) why was this thread moved from Bugs to Discussions?
This is clearly a bug, surely??
