lightroom classic will not launch but shows in the task bar

Using windows 11 all system requirements are up to date as well as lightroom classic. have had no issues until today. photoshop loads and opens, lightroom loads and opens, but lightroom classic will not. it shows the loading circle briefly and then nothing happens. it shows up in the task menu, but nothing beyond that. have tried everything suggested, and nothing has made a difference. not sure what the next steps are or what else to try. has anoyone else experienced this and found a solution? i have uninstalled, reinstalled, reset preferences, deleted cache folders, you name it....nothing is working.
