Lightroom Classic version 12.4 will not open on my computer even though it says it will work on my computer and has in the past. It says the catalog is corrupt? I have uninstalled and reinstalled

3 times and still no luck. Suggestions?

Corrupt catalog is not solved by re-installing, and is not solved by resetting preferences. You need to find a recent backup of your catalog file, unzip it, and work with that unzipped backup.

How to I start fresh? Using no prior files?

Press and hold the Alt key (Option key on a Mac), then launch Lightroom. Keep the Option key pressed until a dialog appears with the option to create a new catalog.

In this case you loose all your editings that you've done in the past.

I recommend, as @dj_paige wrote to restore a catalog from your backups.

My System: Intel i7-8700K - 64GB RAM - NVidia Geforce RTX 3060 - Windows 11 Pro 25H2 -- LR-Classic 15 - Photoshop 27 - Nik Collection 9 - PureRAW 6 - Topaz Photo AI

... and ...

As uninstalling and reinstalling does not reset the preferences, also please try resetting manually:

Also, please try to start Lightroom while holding down the Alt key. This show a dialog to select the catalog and/or create a new one. Try if it works with a new one. There are also options to check the integrity of a catalog.
