Lightroom Classic won't open

I have the latest version of lightroom classic, I'm using windows 11. It had been working fine, all of the sudden it won't open. When I double click the icon on my desk top all I get is an icon on the task bar that says to pick a catalog. When I choose one lightroom still won't open. I uninstalled and reinstalled and have the same thing happening. Need help!

The first thing that you should try is to switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue.

Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.

https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/troubleshoot-gpu.html

If Lightroom doesn't start correctly the please see "Solution 2" in the document behind the link below.

Troubleshoot GPU issues | Lightroom Classic (adobe.com)

Another step is to try to reset the Lightroom preferences.

It's recommended to backup your preferences before you reset the preferences to the default settings:

What has been changed on your system before the error occur?

Do you get an error message? If yes, please post the exact message or an screenshot.

Oh, and can you post a screen capture of that icon you see? Where it asks you to pick a catalog.

Here is the screen shot showing the task bar icon. Also my settings app won't open either, it does the same thing. I added a 2nd monitor the other day and looking .... boy do I feel stupid. the second pic is my second monitor that was turned off. Guess the problem is solved by taking a screen shot. Thanks for guiding me in the right direction.

Two things to try

1. Using Windows File Explorer, navigate to your catalog, double click on it. does LrC launch?

2. Log into your computer as the ADMIN, try starting LrC.
