Lightroom Classic Won't Upload RAW

I'm trying to upload RAW images into my LR, which I've done hundreds of times before. Now, it refuses to recognize the files. I'm direct importing from a Canon 6D, Mark II. All of the advice previously is dated. Also, I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the program plus switched cables. Any advice?

or taking the card out and putting in a card reader? (proper method 90% use)
