Lightroom Classic wont launch

Question

My lightroom classic will not launch, I've tried pretty much everything I can think of and nothing will work. Everything else will open perfectly fine, but Lightroom Classic. This issue started yesterday and I've been trying everything since to get it to work, I have no clue what else to try. Please HELP.

If LR crashes or couldn't shut down regulary a .lock file remains in the folder where the catalog is located.

This .lock file must be deleted manually to start LR again.

The Lightroom catalog cannot be opened because another application already has it opened - lrcat.loc...

If there's no lock file try to reset the preferences to the default settings.
