Lightroom crashed, reset itself to default and will not allow me to save as jpg

I was using Lightroom Classic, hovered over the Adaptive:Sky drop down menu and it crashed.

When I re opened it had reset itself to Default, every menu had to be reopened and it will not allow me to save an image as a jpg, I only get jpeg2000 and jpeg XL in the menu, I do not have any unflattened layers.

It is possible, if the image came from Lightroom-Classic, then it is in 16bit mode, and by default a [Save] command would place the image back in LrC as a TIF or PSD (which you can export from)

You need a flattened, RGB, 8bit, image in Photoshop (default Preferences) to allow [Save As] for JPG, JPEG.

Or you can use the [Export As] function.

Or you can change Preferences > File Handling > Enable legacy “Save As”

Please explain in more detail (and perhaps post screenshots) what you mean. Lightroom does not ‘save’ images. It can export them in different formats, however. Is that what you mean? Lightroom also does not support layers, so I have no idea what you mean with not having ‘unflattened layers’. Are you really talking about Lightroom Classic?

Lightroom Classic shut itself down when I hovered over the Sky menu and on re opening had set itself back to Default. It will have been Photoshop which would not give me the option to save as a jpeg which is what I meant by no layers.
