Lightroom deleting RAW and JPEG upon Import, "COPY TO" selected at top of panel

This bug has happened before with updates, and it seems to be happening again and is VERY frustrating.

Import from source > COPY to file destination >Selected *make a second copy to* file> Import (RAW AND JPEG files moved into LR and deleted off original drive.

HELP PLEASE, things are backed up in multiple places but the last incident was a re-edit out of archive, once importate to lightroom, it is gone. Backing up catalogs does not work as over time I have found revisiting years later, updating old galleries can corrupt the catalog file rendering unusable.

I have paying clients and this is very frustrating.

Please describe in more detail, illustrated with screenshots, what you are doing and what is the result. I have never heard of this alleged bug and I can't reproduce it if I try what I think you are doing. Make proper screenshots (no photos from your screen) and embed them in your message using this button . Do not attach them, please.
