My typical workflow is to upload my images to a directory on my Synolog NAS. Then edit and save them to a new directory on the same drive. The NAS has about 16TB of total storage in total and in that I have used 4TB, I have 33,379 images stored.
The directory structure is as follows:
-decade (eg. 2020)
-year
-client
-event
This morning I went looking for some images only to find that the events were missing from the "Library." This occured in roughly six "event" folders under different clients.
The actual directories were stored correctly in the Windows OS and what I had to do was "import" the images from their correctly stored locations back into Lightroom. When I did reimport the images they had retained the Lightroom adjustments I had previously made.
Hopefully it doesn't occur again as it killed two hours in my day.
