Lightroom does not show on 2 monitors,

Hi

I want to use may monitor LG5K with Lightrooma and Macbook as second monitor

I cannot use my second display monitor as a second monitor in lightroom. It allways mirrors the macbookpro. If I stop mirroring, the macbookpro monitor is out and shows nothing. I have tried all tricks I found here , but I cannot solve this problem, I always get the mirror image. In the window second monitor in the menu, the second windows opens up on the 2 screens, juts mirroring, some items like "full screen preview" do not lighten up, so do not work.

So thanks for giving me the trick that helps

It appears that despite ALL the  descriptions appearing online describing the two monitor function in Lightroom, they ALL omit describing the necessity of adjusting the display settings in either Windows or Apple operating systems to configure a secon display.  A laptop can be connected to a second display, as shown in several tutorials via a HDMI,Displayport or Thunderbolt connection.  This connection alone does NOT enable Lightroom to see the second monitor and separate the main window from an alternate view ( eg, Loupe) in a second monitor.

If your second monitor mirrors the MBP monitor, then that is not a Lightroom Classic problem but a MacOS System Settings that you need to change.

As Johan has already advised, display modes are a function of the operating system. Therefore, you'll need to configure Display Settings for what Apple call 'Extended' mode. Unfortunately, you haven't mention which version of macOS you're using, which makes it difficult to describe how to go about the task of changing the settings. However, this Apple document cover the more recent four versions of macOS. You choose the OS version from the drop-down menu at top left of page.  Hopefully, it is helpful.
