Lightroom doesn't finish export

When exporting the files everything works normal, but then Lightroom doesn't stop.
The LrC Symbol in the taskbar says "finished" because the loading bar is gone.
But inside Lightroom the loading bar in the left corner says still exporting the last picture.

If I open the export folder I see files appearing and disappering all the time.

This process never finishes.

I tried everything like stopping the export, restart the computer, omptimize the cataloge, and so on.

I worked on this for an hour and I think I solved it. Export your work as an lrcat it is "export as catalogue" then using that new lrcat the issue should go away and the software should work correctly. This worked for me on lightroom classic 13.4.

One possibility: have you set a file size limit in your export settings? If a number's stated there which turns out unrealistic to meet at the requested image dimensions. LrC will make repeated tries at exporting each image. Then eventually give up; there is only so much that even the most aggressive compression can achieve.

IMO it's best to identify the image dimensions a specific output requires - and, what compression gives the best balance of compactness and compromise of visible image quality, in the expected usage - and then see what file size naturally results.

If that turns out to exceed some limit then I would look first to whether unenecessary metadata is included; second, to reconsidering the image pixel dimensions, only then to the compression - which might mean in practice lowering say 80% quality to 60% quality - there is a sweet spot zone for such things.

Essentially, taking your own control over what's in the output - not expecting LrC to achieve it through compression alone.
