Question

Lightroom Export Book Failure

Hi,

I'm trying to export a book I created as a standard landscape 10x8 (25x20cm).  Whether I export it to PDF or JPG, it exports at the proper resolution (whatever I set it at), but at an incorrect size.  It saves as 9.623 x 8.25inch.  What is going on here?  Is there any fix?

Hi Michael,

Sorry that yo're unable to export a book in correct size using Lightroom.

Could you please let us know the version of Lightroom that you're using? I've found a relevant discussion that might be helpful to troubleshoot this issue, could you please take a look at this and let us know if that helps? Losing image size / resolution when exporting!

Thanks,

Akash

Hi Akash,

I'm using Light Room CC (2015.14).  The issue is when exporing in Book setting specifically.  When exporting a Book using the Book Settings for JPEG / Standard Landscape 10x8 at 100 JPEG quality and 300 ppi File Resolution, the output should be 3000x2400 pixels (10*300 x 8 *300) instead it outputs as 2887x2475 which isn't even a scaled version of (3000x2400) this is shorter and wider than what should be expected.

The PDF size specifications are stated by Blurb at- PDF to Book Specifications | Blurb Books

A "Standard Landscape 10x8" is just a 'close' approximation of the exact PDF size that Lightroom would send to Blurb.

If you send a PDF to Blurb you would need to follow these specifications for a 10x8-
