Lightroom Fusion Drive
Hi everyone !
Since October 2018 I use Mylio together with Lightroom Classic, CC and mobile. My main machine is a iMac 2017 with a 2 TB fusion drive. Today I noticed again that my Lightroom Library has missing images.
Before I go on, I first have to explain my setup. As I said, I use my iMac as my main computer, where I have the last version of Lightromm CC installed. It is setup to download photos from Lightroom mobile. I use my iphone to transfer my Apple photos to Lightroom mobile.
In order to be able to have all my photos from 2000 until now on my phone, I tried Mylio since a year now. It is watches the lightroom folder, which is located on my iMac and created its own Mylio library (which is an exact copy of Lightroom). This was working fine from the beginning.
Now to my problem. Today I noticed for the 3rd time that Lightroom has missing photos. The photos missing seem to be in a very random order. Sometimes there are just 3 photos in a folder missing, some times all photos in a folder a missing.
I also noticed that luckily, as Mylio transfered the photos from Lightroom to its own library, I had a complete backup of all my photos created by Mylio.
When this happened to me for the 2nd time last August, I installed a neat little program called Foldersync 2 on my mac. With it I could compare the to Libraries (Mylio's and Lightroom's). So I could sync the photos back to my Lightroom library and go on again.
Now after 2 months, the same thing happened again. This time I found that no less than 60 GB of photos were missing in my 2019 library. Again I could sync them back !
I am not quite sure about the reason for this, could it be a Lightroom related problem, could it be the interaction betwee nMylio and Lightroom, or last but not least, as I have stored the 2019 Lightroom library on the Fusion drive of my iMac, could this be the problem for eating up my photos (by copying them forth an back from the ssd to the optical disk) ?????
Does perhaps anyone have or had a similar problem ?
