Question

Lightroom gets very slow after 20 min. of use

Since two weeks or so my always stable Lightroom has become very slow. More specifically, it works ok for the first 20 min., and then becomes so slow at any operation that I have to restart it. Nothing has changed in the system (maybe except regular Windows patches). Latest NVidia drivers didn't help.

Not sure how to reproduce this so that you can see the slowness.

Lightroom Classic 13.5.1

High end PC (i7, 64 GB of RAM, SSD)

Windows 10 22H2, version 19045.5011.

Hey, @germans67014243. Welcome to the Lightroom Classic Community. I'll help you figure this out.

Before troubleshooting, please update Lightroom Classic to the latest version, v14, via the Creative Cloud desktop app.

If the issue exists, monitor the Task manager for read-write operations and RAM usage by Lightroom Classic. Is sync enabled in Lightroom Classic?

What is your usual workflow? Do you use Denoise & Ai-masks before you start to see this?

As primary steps, try this:

  • Unplug additional displays & use only one by default.
  • Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor > Set it off if it is on Custom or Auto. If this shows you any differences, please check this article to troubleshoot further: https://adobe.ly/3uYiJo4

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

Please ensure your Creative Cloud app is up to date by checking for updates. You can follow the step-by-step guide in this article: https://adobe.ly/3YrD2Xe

Let me you're able to see the updates after trying this.

Thanks, I already scanned for updates and updated everything. Still, when were those updates released?

And I already see some issues with linear DNG denoise, will post that separately.
