Lightroom greys out some images on a new import.

Can't figure out why this is happening. Recently, when importing a new lot of images, some of the last ones are just greyed out, and LR indicates that they have already been imported. That is not the case. This never previously happened. Is it the latest LR update, is it that the same file numbers have come around again (can't see why)?

Have look on the forums but can't find a solution to this problem. Someone help please.

Thanks

    Hi surfjma,

If you think the images are not duplicates, You can uncheck the option " Don't import suspected duplicates" in the import window and check if that helps. Refer How to specify import options in Lightroom

Thanks for your responses. I've now reformatted my cards so don't know the answer to the last comment. It would, however, not be the point when trying to use LR c.c. - time consuming.

Is it not an LR c.c. bug? I note online that some suggest resetting the Preference in LR. Why should this be arbitrary? It seems to be an old issue. How does an image file number get replicated in the way I have described in this situation?

    Hi Akash,

That's the problem. The 'Don't import duplicates' is NOT checked. That's what's baffling me. On a fresh, new images import, where I've left the images previously shot on the card (in the same shooting session) I simply want to carry on shooting and import only the new images into Lightroom. Unfortunately, this issue comes up where a number of the new images, usually at the end of the batch just shot, are greyed out. Never had this issue before and used this method repeatedly. Of course, I can reformat card each time, but I have a 64 GB CFast card so unlikely to fill it up. It's also a precaution for me to keep a photoshoot session all on this card, into my external Hard Drive till the end of the shoot. I normally reformat at the beginning of a new shoot.

    Any further ideas?

If you download them first, using your operating system, can you then import them into Lightroom?
