Lightroom: How do I transfer my catalog and photos from one external drive to another w/o losing ratings or develop settings?

I just transferred Lightroom catalog and images from an older external drive to a new external drive. I have Lightroom opening with the correct catalog on the new drive but the images cannot be found. Is there a step I am missing to make this transition smoother and easier?

    Hi marcf,

    You need to move all images in a same structure to the new drive. Once all data moved, open the catalog and update the folder location in Lightroom catalog. You can refer the below articles for the step by step instructions.

    Thank you! I knew it was probably a vey simple step but the last thing I wanted to do is make matters worse by doing the wrong thing.

    Mohit,

    One more question. Can I right click the main folder for my images to update the folder location or do I have to click every individual folder? Thank you again! Marc

    If you have moved all the folders in a same structure to the new location then, yes you can just update the location for main folder in Lightroom catalog.
