lightroom import from catalog

I have lightroom 13.4 classic on windows 11 and try to import (in place becuase the files are already there) from another catalog Import photos from a different Lightroom Classic catalog

It seems to import everything in the catalog I choose. Is there some way to be more selective of what should be imported?

Create a "sub-catalog", in the other catalog, select the photos you want to have in the import, then File->Export as CAtalog, give this exported catalog a name. Then when you do File->Import from Another Catalog, select this exported catalog.

Even simpler: Use one catalog for all of your photos.
