Lightroom Import not showing folder contents or previews?

Can anyone help me figure out why my import isnt working in LR? Im trying to copy images from a folder on my hard drive but when i choose the folder nothing happens. It doesnt show the images to the right for any folder that i choose. Ive tried closing out and restarting my Mac but nothing is working so far. Beyond frustrated..

Please state the exact version NUMBER of your Lightroom. Please state the exact version NUMBER of your operating system. We need the version NUMBERs and not words like "latest" or "up-to-date".
