Lightroom Imports not showing up

I use Lightroom Classic alongside Photomechanic as a Sports Photographer. For as long as I have used it I have never had an issue with imports not showing up.

But a couple of weeks ago I started to have to toggle between tabs multiple times to actually see the images after importing. Tonight at a game I was shooting that meant going through the import box, and then cycling through the all photographs, Previous Import and dated folder a few times before they showed up.

Alongside this any time i make edits, especially cropping and then return back to the library tab it doesn't preview the edit but insted the original picture again. This ultimately is bordering on un-usable for the industry I am in and is becoming a hastle. Edits also dont apply when selecting a preset, but only when you go forward an image and then return to the one you had applied the preset on.

Any thoughts on what this issue could be?

(I have already completely backed up the catalogue, deleted lightroom and then re-downloaded but no fix.

Anytime LrC starts doing funny stuff, it's a good idea to reset the preferences.

Reinstalling LrC does not reset the preferences.

Thanks for this, I have now done this but am still facing the same issues, I will attatch a few screen recordings of what is. happening.

Go and eliminate one possible issue. This one not well documented. And I suspect the actual import would completely fail if it was the case. But.....

Bring the import screen back up, change the method from Add, to Copy, carefully change the destination from whatever it is, to some other destination. then change it back to what you want. Then import one image.

An old bug was when the destination was invalid. Perhaps a folder was moved or renamed. Had you attempted a Copy, the failure would be apparent. Had yo later tried to Add, the failure would not be obvious. LrC has no reason to have Add depend on the previous Copy destination, but this has failed.

Purpose of changing from Add to Copy, and purpose of missing around with the destination, is to make sure the destination is correct. Purpose of one import via Copy is to see if that works. Then you can return to Add.

This is just a hunch. I give it about 5% to be useful. But I also give it about a 10% annoyance value to go thru and prove as garbage.

No, I am currently on Sonoma, and have been for about 6 months before the issues arose
