This was meant to be a bug report not question but oh well. Lightroom stalls when the bar get to ~5%.

    Hi @Nathaniel5EB4,

Thanks for reporting this. Axel’s suggestion is a good first step, but before we jump to reinstalling, could you help narrow down exactly where it’s getting stuck?

    A few questions:

    • Does Lightroom freeze every time you use Photo > Edit In > Adobe Photoshop, or only with specific files?

    • Approximately how long does it sit at ~5% before you cancel it?

    • What file type are you editing: RAW, TIFF, DNG, PSD, JPEG, or PNG?

    • If you choose Edit In > Open as Smart Object in Photoshop (if available), does that behave differently?

    • System Info from both LrC & PS Help > System Info and copy & paste it here.

    • A short screen recording showing selecting the image, choosing Edit In Photoshop, and the progress bar stalling around 5%.

Also, can you confirm whether Photoshop launches normally on its own outside of Lightroom? If Photoshop is already open before you choose “Edit In”, does the behavior change?

We look forward to your response.

    Best,

When the 'link' between Lightroom Classic and Photoshop has issues, the first step is to try this:

Use the Adobe Creative Cloud Application to uninstall Photoshop. When asked, keep preferences! After this reinstall Photoshop again.

If this doesn't help the nest step is to reinstall both apps Lightroom and Photoshop. Please follow the steps below:

    1. Open the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Client and uninstall both Photoshop and Lightroom Classic. When asked, keep preferences!

    2. Install Photoshop first and then Lightroom Classic. The right order is very important here!

If this doesn't help try the reinstallation with removing the preferences also.
