Lightroom is slow and crashes

My lightroom on my laptop is very slow the last 1 or 2 weeks. I have no idea whats causing this problem. Maybe its lightroom, my laptop or my external disk. But takes me 2 hours to edit 10 photos or so and it crashhes also sometimes. It also says that some of my photo's are missing or missing information while they are on my external disk.

Well several issues appear in that system info, unfortunately the first two cannot be fixed.

Only 16 GB of RAM? (yes Adobe supports that, but...)
An Integrated video controller with no VRAM, and using only 128 MB of RAM
A catalog syncing or perhaps even on OneDrive (this causes some big performance issues)

Also some info from your statements and system information

LrC catalog is on the C drive
Photos are on an external drive
Some issues with the external drive???

But you were having better performance

So some questions:

Have you tested/inspected that external hard drive for issues?
Is that external hard drive prevented from going to sleep?
Your C drive, with the catalog on it. How much free space in percent (yes %) looking for at least 20%, some say 25% free.
That association with OneDrive, how good/poor is your Internet connection

Only 16 GB of RAM? (yes Adobe supports that, but...)

I have never had more than 16GB of RAM, and everything runs fine for me. If you have 16GB (or more) on Windows, RAM is almost never a bottleneck.

What actions in LrC are slow? Please be specific and detailed.

What actions in LrC are you talking about?

Describe what you see when it doesn't open the photos. Do you see an error message when it doesn't open the photos? If so, what is the exact word-for-word error message.
