Question

Lightroom is very slow working with generative ai

I have an issue for about last month or so that every time I remove something from a photo, it can be a dirty spot in the sky and it can be a socket on the wall, each one of them can take 5 sec or 10 minutes.

Sometimes it will remove a spot in a sec and in the next it will take forever. 5-10 minutes.

I worked with gemini and this are the things I did to try and solve this:
- Created a new catalog and gave it more space for cache, I think 5GB was the recommendation if I remember correctly.
- I added memory to my pc now it is 2*16GB.
- Changed my wierelles card now my internet is 100GB download 80GB upload.

Overall my pc works very fast and has no issues, this is the only one.

What else can I do to make this processes faster?
I can’t work and provide results for my customers and it hurts my business badly.

Your GPU driver is from January 2026. Try updating to the most recent version (May/June 2026)

Ok I updated the Nvidia driver and tried to remove items on a photo I already did before and used timer to check the time it takes.

Before the update it took 8-9 minutes.
After the update it 1:10 minutes!!

    Amazing!
Also tried on other couple of photos and it feels ok, it takes time but not 8-9 minutes as before.
Between 30 sec to 1:30 minutes per photo,

It’s a change for me and ot’s better then before.
    But overall is that normal?

Are you using Lightroom (Lr icon) or Lightroom Classic (LrC icon)? What version NUMBER?

    What operating system version NUMBER?

What is your GPU make and model? What is the version number of the GPU Driver?

We need the version NUMBER and not words like “latest” or “up-to-date”.
