Lightroom issues since creative cloud changes

Hi All,

I have had nothing but issues with lightroom and the new adobe creative cloud interface. There used to be a shortcut on my desktop to access lightroom but now I have to login to creative cloud every time to start lightroom. This could take up to 10-15 minutes at times. Then when I'm actually in lightroom it is so slow that it continually says 'not responding'. I'm at my whits ends with it all and have work backed up because of it. Thinking of cancelling and buying actual software because I'm over it. Anyone else having issues?

Speaking of the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App.

Sign in and DO NOT sign out. Signing out deactivates the programs on your computer. You would need to sign back in to activate them. Resulting in your issue.

It sounds like you are quitting out of the Creative Cloud application. It needs to run in the background all of the time. This is how you stay logged into your other applications. You can hide the CC app instead of quitting with a CMND or CNTRL H.

Why are you Logging out of the Creative Cloud application or from Lightroom for that matter?  You can just quit the app or Lightroom then you will not have to Login again. Also you should be able to pin Lightroom to the dock.

One thing you need to be aware of, is you will remain logged in even when you do not have connection to the internet, you will need to connect every 30 days or 90 days if your subscription is paid annualy.

In reality when you login your Adobe apps will be activated, if your monthly payment is in arrears you will be logged out automatically. Simarly if you do not have internet connection for more than 30 days you will get logged out.

Hi there,

Sorry that you're finding it difficult to access Lightroom from the Creative Cloud desktop app as it takes a lot of time to load the app and then Lightroom stops responding at times. That should not be happening, let us help make this right.

Could you please let us know the version of Lightroom you are using? Also, which operating system and version do you have on your computer?

You may still keep the Lightroom icon on desktop or in the taskbar by simply keeping it there.

As Lightroom is running slower than expected, please checkout this article and let us know if that helps improving the situation: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/optimize-performance-lightroom.html

Thanks,

Akash
