Lightroom lost edits transferring to new computer

I recently bought a new Mac. I used my Apple Time-Machine to transfer my files from my old computer. I opened Lightroom and opened my catalog. My photos through fine, but I have files where the edits did not come with the photo. The preview shows the edited image until I click to open it. Then the edits disappear, and the preview shows the original, unedited image. (Though the preview continues to display the 'stars' or color filters.)

Any suggestions where to go to find the edits? Perhaps in an earlier catalog?

Does the History Panel show the previous edits? Can you show us a screen capture of the History panel of one of these photos?

    Dj, thanks for your response.

However, the history panel of one of the photos that lost the editing only shows that I imported the photo last May, but shows no editing.  I'll get a screen capture of the history when I have a chance. As I suspected, the photo was in a file that was originally in an earlier catalog. I suspect I wasn't as careful managing catalogs.

Fortunately, the edits of more recent photos transferred, which is a big relief. Since most of my files were originally created in my current catalog, I seem to be in good shape.

    Thanks.

No need for a screen capture in this case.

Can you find this photo in an older catalog that does have edits?

Proprietary raws, DNGs or rendered images (TIFFs, JPEGs etc)?

The edits should stored for NEF's as sidecar files; do you see any?

And dj's question is a good one, do you still have the older catalog?
