Question

Lightroom merge to hdr has stopped working

I quite often bracket the exposures on my photos producing three raw images. I have for several years had no problems using Photo Merger to hdr in the menus.

this combine the images and produces a screen from which to can alter a few options.

Press OK and a task is created to proces a hdr image. This runs as normal, you can watch the progress bar move along to 100%.

Then usually the hdr image appears in the picture rack at the bottom of the screen. I can then select and edit.

But the final image nolonger appears in the picture rack.

I have rebooted my PC and it makes no difference.

=Why has this feature stopped working?

I have in fact forced an export of an image and added to the catalogue. This for some reason has fixed the problem. Thanks.

One common issue is  that for no known reason, when the merge is  complete  your Library module filmstrip is not in the sort order prior to the  merge. So, you may have been sorted by file name, and now you are sorted by capture  time, the merged HDR is way over on the right of the film strip well away from your source photis.

Almost forgot, now not at a computer to check out, but when you started the merge, does an option exist to stack results

Bring up any photo, bring up the export screen, make sure the option to Add to catalog is checked. If not, do so and export. Once that option is checked AND a export is accomplished, some blasted setting in LR takes effect. This is not provable, it is perhaps legend, but give that a try.

Lacking system information. In Lightroom click on Help, click on System Information, click on Copy. Paste that into your reply
