Question

Lightroom not workable any more

Since the migration upgrade 13, Lightroom has been a mess!!! thousands of virtual copies that I never made. import and export is terribly slow, takes hours to take a few photos!
I already did the following actions:
geforce GTX 1660 latest upgrade
move catalog to hard SSD drive
AMD Ryzen 9 3900 12 core 32ram should not be a problem
Lightroom is no longer workable in this way

Following is probably not the solution to your problem, but I noticed the following:

 

1. LogiOptions.

 The Logitech Plugin, LogiOptions, not to be confused with the Mouse/keyboard drivers, or the mouse/keyboard control applicatin, Is a plugin that allows (on capable mice//keyboards) to assign functions to extra buttons/dials much like a LoupDeck. This plugin is a known piece of dung. It often cause annoying issues (main one being while batch removing photos) If you do not actually use it, then I would recommend deleting it. Note that (unless logitech finally fixed) it has a nasty habit of getting re installed during Logitech driver/app updates. If you do use the extra buttons for LrC actions, then Ok keep it, just accept an occasional annoyance.

 

2. Older versions of plugins. ON1 NoNoise, Photo RAW.

 

Not absolutely sure if the existance of older plugins is an issue. But that may be asking for trouble. These plugins, the files for them, are read by LrC upon LrC startup. As such, they are in the database management. Actually they should only crop up as an issue when using them. Oh, LrC might be ignoring them. But quite frankly, it is probably a good idea to remove them. Eliminate a possible issue.

 

3. ON1 Resize 2023 and Sky Swap 2023.

 

Never mind, my bad. Yes I see those two did not get replaced in the 2024 install of ON1, but still work. I have the Resize in my plugins, no issue.

Can you post in a reply your LrC /Preferences/Performance/

and is any Cloud Sync going on?

Can you post in a reply a screeenshot in the develop module, with the History panel visible, one of those errant virtual copys.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut out as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs and it takes up vast amounts of scroll space making the reply less readable and less likely that others will bother with your post.
