Lightroom Open on Another Device

Hi,

My previous computer's motherboard got fried and I had to get a new computer. I was, however, able to save my Lightroom Catalog from the hard drive and have since transferred it to my new computer. However, when I try to open the Catalog I receive a message saying I need to quit the other copy of Lightroom.

Is there any way to get around this?

Thanks

Correct answer Just Shoot Me

Look in the folder that the LR catalog file is in and delete the file that ends with .lock.

Then open LR.

Try deleting the lock file which probably exists in the same folder as your catalog

Lightroom 4 Catalog marked open - unable to open Lightroom
