Dont have too much experience with presets.  Attached are several photos with overexposed washed out waves and water.  Are there any recommended presets that would help properly expose the photo.  Thanks in advance

Presets are neither secret nor magic formulas. They are nothing more than collections of slider positions designed to save you time and anything a preset does can be done moving the sliders one-at-a-time. Doing it manually will be slower but it will have the advantage of being responsive to the needs and possibilities of the image.

Note too, exposure only takes place at capture, never (impossible) after. Exposure is solely an attribute of shutter and aperture (not ISO), meaning, the amount of light (photon's) striking the sensor. There may be a slider in many products called "Exposure" but none the less, exposure can only take place when you click the shutter.

Yes, the Exposure slider in Lightroom should be labeld as Brightness

In the uploaded JPG files a significant part of the waves have COMPLETELY clipped highlights which means there is NO data there to recover.  It is just white.  If you shot this with RAW there might be something to recover but from looking at the photos I would say the RAW highlights are probably clipped too.

If the OP can upload a raw (assuming he captured raw), very easy to tell if there's clipping with RawDigger. Alas, not possible using LR/ACR; no raw Histogram.

    "LR/ACR; no raw Histogram."

Ok, that had me scratchin my head for a bit

In LR we are actually seeing a histogram from a preview not actually the RAW file. Ok.
