Lightroom process not quitting after exit LrC 15.1

LrC 15.1

After exiting Lightroom Classic, its background process never ends.

1st screenshot of Task Manger is a few hour after I exited Lightroom.

2nd screenshot was several minute after exiting, each time resource use numbers seem different.

If I start LrC and exit, no issue, but if I do work, play a video and then exit this issue happens.

I can't start LrC until I kill the background LrC process.

There are also about 11 Creative Cloud background process running.

Thanks for sharing the details and helping us isolate the issue. I checked the system report, and everything appears to be within the recommended specifications, with drivers up to date.

As a next step, I’d suggest trying to reinstall TourBox, or reaching out to the TourBox support team directly to confirm compatibility with the latest Lightroom/Camera Raw versions and for further clarification.

Thanks for the detailed breakdown and for continuing to narrow this down. Based on what you’ve shared, this looks like Lightroom Classic not fully releasing a background task after certain operations, which is not expected behavior.

A few concrete things to check so we can move this forward without guessing:

• Since you confirmed it happens even without video previewing, please temporarily disable all third-party plugins

– Go to File > Plug-in Manager

– Disable everything

– Restart Lightroom Classic, do a normal work session, then exit and see if the process still stays alive

• Share a fresh System Info

– Help > System Info

– Copy and paste the full output

Please screen record your workflow where you were able to reproduce this issue so that we can escalate it cleanly to engineering.

I think I have narrowed it down to the TourBox Plug-in. Below shows version of TourBox Plug-in and the TourBox Console is 5.11.0 Beta. Started by disabling the 3 most recent Plug-ins which fixed it, and then turned them back on until it didn't work which turned out to be TourBox. Will run with TourBox plug-in disabled to insure that is the only issue. From the TourBox functions guessing they are hooking into some new areas.

I have been trying to isolate this more and it seem related to previewing videos. In short tests it doesn't happen when working with photos, but then they are just short tests. I have primarily dji, gopro and Samsung A32 videos. Also the above statement about resourse use numbers changing it for each time I exit and hit this issue, they don't seem to change after a couple of minutes after exit.

Later edit:

It is not previewing videos, I did a longer session with no previewing videos, and same issue. Primarly keywording and face recognition/labeling. Process view from this session.
