I've had this issue with lightroom for some time now. When I'm in the grid view on the library scrolling is incredibly choppy and slow! I have over 8000 photos and it takes FOREVER to scroll through these! I just bought a new PC with a dedicated graphics driver and i7 processor but still issues. Help please!

Which version of Lightroom are you using?
Please try optimizing Lightroom catalog from the File>>Optimize catalog menu, and also refer this article for more optimizations that might help getting rid of this issue. See Optimize Lightroom performance
