LIGHTROOM SHOWS MISSING PHOTO AFTER CFAST CARD IS EJECTED

So I Import my photos into Lightroom like normal. Edit the photos and now Im done.

I pulled my CFAST card out of my card reader and instantly the photos get the "!" mark and says they are missing.

Now Ive ran into the "missing media"error before and know how to reconnect but for some reason the import isn't sticking to my Lightroom.  Ive shot on the 5D Mark iii for the past 4 years and have only started running into this with my 1DX Mark ii / CFast card.

PLEASE HELP.

Thank you.

Building on Wobertc's answer, is sounds like you did an "add" import when you needed to do a "copy" import so that the files ended up on your computer's hard drive.

The most important thing here is that your images were never copied to your hard drive. Do not use or format the CFast card until you get the images copied to your hard drive.

"Like Normal"-  Can you give us some more details?

Which of these options are you using in the Import dialog- [Copy as DNG, Copy, Move, Add] ?

What is the destination folder for your imports?

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.3, Photoshop 27.5, ACR 18.3, Lightroom 9.3, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.3 .
