Hi @Allan30656907meg7,
Thanks for reaching out. Before you spend money on a new graphics card, let’s check a couple of things first.
Your AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT was released in July 2019, so it’s now over seven years old. It was a mid-to-high-end desktop GPU at the time, with 8 GB of dedicated VRAM. While newer Lightroom Classic features can place greater demands on the GPU, I wouldn’t rule out other causes just because of the card’s age.
Since Lightroom Classic initially runs fine and only becomes sluggish after you’ve been editing for a while, I’d like to check whether something changes during the session.
Could you please share your System Info when the slowdown occurs?
In Lightroom Classic, go to Help > System Info > Copy, then paste the information into your reply here.
That will help us check your Lightroom Classic version, graphics driver, GPU configuration, and memory usage for anything that might explain the slowdown.
Also, could you take a look at these two reports and let me know whether either resembles what you’re experiencing?
Lightroom GPU acceleration causing lag during slider adjustments
Lightroom Classic 15.6 – Sliders bouncing in the Develop module
I’m not suggesting these are necessarily the same issue, but comparing the behavior may help us narrow things down.
Let’s check the System Info before concluding that you need a new GPU.
Best,
Anshul Saini
