Lightroom Slideshow

I am running Lightroom 6.14. I have "exported to video" (to a thumb drive with 64gigs - plenty of space) a slideshow with 218 slides + music which runs for 26 minutes. I have exported using 1080. The slideshow seems to export successfully. On playing the slideshow from the thumb drive (whether on the computer from which it was installed or another device such as a smart TV), the slideshow gets to about the last few minutes and hangs. The slideshow progress bar continues to countdown but no slides and no music. If I export to video using 720 it seems go all the way through. Can anyone tell me why LR will not run the slideshow properly when exported at the highest resolution?

LR does a terrible job compressing slideshows. The bitrate it encodes in is often way too high for slow media like thumb drives and often also for smart TVs and such. The trick is to recompress using a tool such as handbrake (free), Quicktime, or Adobe's media encoder.

I had many problems too. Check that the drive that contains the LR cash also has plenty of space.

The thumb drive I’m saving the slideshow to is brand new. 64 gig capacity and nothing stored on it. The slideshow itself is a little under 5 gigs. So storage does not seem to be the issue.
