Lightroom stability problems with imports, previews and maps
I recently decided to switch from Bridge to LR and have come across a litany of problems with Lightroom and I'm not sure if this is me or LR is just buggy. I'm using the latest version of LR on an Macbook Pro M1 Max. Issues so far:
* "Too many requests" errors when putting search terms into the Maps search as I import lots of images without GPS data.
* A behaviour where dragging photos onto the Map does not geolocate them. Looking at the files they are being updated, but they aren't subsequently located on the map. This is sporadic and is cured by an LR restart and going through the process of dragging photos onto the map again.
* Standard size image previews not being built in a timely fashion when a large import has happened. I imported 500+ photos yesterday evening and LR was still creating previews this morning. I suspect it's not actually creating previews but is locked on some resource tbh. This happens to me frequently.
* Previews being entirely lost after having to force exit LR when 'optimizing preview catalog' never terminates - which happens at least once every 3 days.
Is there some trivial settings I'm missing? Does anyone else experience the same instability? TBH I'm really shocked given how long LR has been out and the stability of PS and Bridge.
