Question

Lightroom will not open. Prompt says: Lightroom needs to be able create temporary files in order to operate correctly.

This is only my second time trying to use this since purchasing and it won't allow itself to create a temporary folder for some reason.

    I agree with ​@dj_paige . This does seem like a permissions-related issue. Could you please share a screenshot of the error you're seeing? That will help in identifying the exact problem.

    Is that the exact word-for-word error message? It sounds like you are paraphrasing and it would be very helpful if you gave us the exact unedited word-for-word error message.

     

    Also please state clearly if you are using Lightroom Classic (LrC icon), or Lightroom (Lr icon).

     

    My guess is that you do not have write access to the folder where the Lightroom Classic catalog is located. It’s a guess, until we have the exact error message.
