Lightroom with Google File Stream

Anyone using Lightroom with Google File Stream?  I used to just store all my photos/videos on a file server and share the drive on the network and point Lightroom at that.  Worked fine, but not energy efficient to keep that server running 24/7.  I now have an unlimited Google Drive account I had gotten for another reason, and figured I would copy my collection there and use Google File Stream to mount it.  Seems to work fine.  Only one problem.  It seems the moment Lightroom starts, File Stream starts downloading the full versions of a LOT of the files.  This is with me not processing anything in Lightroom.  The catalog file and all the previews are stored locally so aren't what is streaming.  Any idea what is happening?  Seems to be downloading random files across the entire collection.  Any solutions known?  While I do have fiber internet so everything is fast, if I leave it running it will just fill up my hard drive quickly.

Thank you everyone for any help you can provide!

Possible theory and solution.  I think all that was happening was it scanning for faces.  Once I turned off that setting it seems to have stopped syncing.  Yay!  Could have just been lucky timing, but seems to work.

I'm also considering doing the same thing. I plan to move all my photos to Google Drive and use Google File Stream to process them in Lightroom. How is your experience with that? Any critical thing I should be concerned about?

I work a while with Google FS. But there is a big issue with this environment. It does not work properly with Google FS. The reason is, because the catalogue files are extracted and during this, Google FS is syncing in the background.

It works fine as long as I have the catalog files locally on my computer and the images/photos on GFS.

As I heard, everything works fine with Dropbox because the sync approach is another...

Have you had any other issues importing or syncing folders that reside on GSuite?  I'm about to do this very same thing, I've remapped my drive folder as well as moving the cache stores, but I don't want to have much stored locally and wasn't sure how Lr would handle files wanting them to be stored locally or not.
