Lightroom won't respond

Hi. I have Lightroom 6 which I bought and installed from a disc several years ago. Two weeks ago it stopped working. When I open it, it doesn't go past the loading screen and then says "not responding".

I have tried uninstalling and reinstaling but the results are the same. Please if anyone could help I would be very grateful.
