Lightroom won't start anymore

Need some help here.

Today I was working in Lightroom Classic. Closed it and wanted to continue in the evening but Lightroom wouldn't start anymore. (There has not been an update in the mean time)

At first nothing happened. I then discided tot delete lightroom and to reïnstall.

Did this twice, the start up screen appeared but it never opened.

I even tried to install the previous version but this also isn't the option.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be here?
I was in the middle of editing a shoot that I have to deliver soon so I'm a bit worried..

To build on Johan's reply, deleting the file can be persnickety--see these detailed steps:

This is (probably) a known issue. Adobe has verified this workaround has no risks. Until they can release an update please follow these steps:

  • Close LrC if open
  • Locate metrics.json file
    File Locations:
    Mac: /Users/<username>/Library/Caches/Adobe/Lightroom/metrics.json
    Win: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Lightroom\Caches\metrics.json
  • Remove or rename the file

Lightroom should now launch normally.

See also this thread and do note that the location mentioned is hidden by default: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-bugs/p-lrc-12-2-1-fails-to-start-launch-or-is-extremely-slow-launching/idi-p/13673512
