As stated in the title, lightroom won't start, no banner or anything, but comes up on the task manager at 25% cpu...

I have restarted the computer, install and install, don't know what to do anymore...

HI All, thank you for your help.

I do have the lock file, but after I deleted it it is created again.
What I have done, I have deleted all catalog files (just files, no folders) and used the last backpuo catalog and it is working again.

I should have included a link

    Lightroom catalog cannot be opened

And I believe the lock file can be found (if it exists in your instance) next to the LR catalog file wherever you have stored that.

Make sure that the lock file does not exist. If lightroom was closed abnormally, the lock file might have not been deleted.

Back in 2015 when Lightroom Classic was called Lightroom-CC I experienced the Task Manager problem and fixed it as in this forum thread-

    lightroom remaining

Restarting the computer would normally correct this problem, but you seem to have something different if it remains after a restart.

Yet, it might be worth trying (set Priority to high) - IF you can get Lightroom to start!

First try-  [Windows key + X] [Task Manager]  Right-click on "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic", select [End Task], Restart Lightroom. Then set the 'priority' in Task Manager.

    Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .
