I am on Lightroom 12.3 on Mac Ventura 13.4 M2 chip. I was using Lightroom this morning and then upgraded. Lightroom wont load now.  Any suggestions?  I have removed and downloaded it again (multiple times), and restarted mac.  Still wont start.

Thanks but I have solved it by looking at another post.  It's much simpler to solve.  The Adobe Log file in Library needs the permissions to be changed to read/write. This fixed the problem.  Im not sure why this update didnt work the same as previous updates.  thanks Alex

Hey, @alexm751121. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out.

Do you see Lightroom Classic in the Activity Monitor? Where is the catalog stored at the moment? In the internal drive or the external drive?

Try these steps to get Lightroom to launch:

  • Reset Lightroom Classic following the second (manual) method from this article: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/setting-preferences-lightroom.html
  • Press the OPT when launching Lightroom Classic & choose the option to create a new catalog and create a new one on the internal drive.

  • If the above step does not launch Lightroom Classic, go to the following location to launch Photoshop via the terminal.
In Finder > Application Folder > Lightroom Classic > Right-click on Lightroom.app > Show Package Contents > Contents > macOS > Lightroom - double click to open.

Let us know how it goes. Thanks!
